Goddess of Love, Beauty and Prosperity
The
word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word Laksme,
meaning "goal." Lakshmi, therefore, represents the goal of
life, which includes worldly as well as spiritual prosperity. She is
the Goddess of Love, Beauty & Prosperity and maintains harmony,
joy and fullness in the universe.
Her
consort
She is the consort of Lord
Vishnu and is the feminine aspect of Vishnu The Preserver.
Her
form
As an icon her four arms symbolize the infinite aspects of the Supreme
Being who is All Pervasive, Omnipotent Divinity.
The Lotus that she holds in her hand and the Lotus she stands upon,
are symbolic of unfoldment or blossoming of consciousness.
